The best part about the San Antonio Graham Central Station is that it's like six clubs under one roof. For one cover charge, club hoppers can hop between bars without ever having to leave the building. A retro discotheque called Bell Bottoms, an international music room called Vertigo, a top 40s dance hall called South Beach, a county area dubbed Denim and Diamonds, a karaoke lounge known as Alley Cats and the T-2002 club make up the various areas to drink and be entertained at Graham Central Station. With so many different areas, the San Antonio crowds are mixed but it definitely varies more depending on the specials at the door. College nights bring in a huge crowd, but any night of the week can be a blast at Graham Central Station.

An outside patio allows smokers and those who need a break to enjoy the San Antonio nights. Directly across from San Antonio College, Heat is on Main Street where there are several bars catering to the San Antonio gay community. After a gay bar crawl around San Antonio, Heat is always a good place to end up.

Metropolis and Mystique Ultra Lounge

13307 San Pedro Ave., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.403.2582
Why have one club when it's so easy to have two? That must have been where the owners were going when they created Mystique Ultra Lounge and then made another level of the club an area called Metropolis. The whole club is multilevel with a huge dance floor and several full bars. The San Antonio crowd is mostly under 30 and if they aren't at the bar they're on the dance floor getting down to the house, top 40 or hip-hop music. A swanky VIP area is about 20 feet above the dance floor and provides a great view of the party at this San Antonio ultra lounge. Modern furniture paired with the state of the art sound system and lighting make the fashionistas and scenesters go crazy for some of the best DJs in Texas.

Midnight Rodeo

12260 Nacogdoches Rd., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.655.0040
San Antonio cowboys are rampant at Midnight Rodeo's bar, but they have enough ladies' night specials to bring in plenty of cowgirls as well. Super cheap drink specials help lubricate the dance floor and the ability to get a dance with a partner of one's choosing if the line dancing didn't work in that department. Everyone wears his or her nicest 10-gallon hat and cowboy boots to impress the opposite sex. Drink specials and a buffet make more of a reason to go to San Antonio's Midnight Rodeo if meeting a new special someone wasn't reason enough.

Pegasus

1402 N. Main Ave., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.299.4222
Forget those over-the-top, sweaty, gay dance clubs. This San Antonio establishment puts the gay in Pegasus with plenty of swank. Pegasus still has plenty of room for dancing at the main bar with regular club dance music and this hip San Antonio gay club also offers other rooms for different entertainment. The Flying Horse—how very classic Texas of them—is more of a country area for all the cowboys. For the boys who want to don their leather chaps, The Hawk is the place for them and doubles as a leather shop. What many head to the San Antonio gay bar for is the tropical themed patio out back that offers karaoke every night. The good and the bad—not the ugly—take it upon themselves to entertain the outdoor area with their vocal stylings. It's a good thing the Pegasus is so laid back, otherwise instead of laughing along with some singers they'd be throwing him off stage.

Petticoat Junction

1818 N. Main Ave., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.737.2344
Across from the San Antonio College campus, Petticoat Junction is a notoriously chic lesbian bar hangout. Dartboard, pool tables and nudie-girl playing cards may give the appearance of a typical male club, but in fact it's quite the opposite. Several dance floors allow plenty of space to get to the bar then head to the floor. Lesbian and transgendered folks are all accepted at the club and on Tuesday nights Petticoat Junction even hosts the Gay Dart League. Drink specials are offered several nights a week and Fridays get crazy when a weekly drag show is put on at this San Antonio gay club. After some dancing, the front or back patios at Rebar are great places to hang out and enjoy the night. The back patio is far more enjoyable, though, because it has a bar and all the amazing drinks that are offered inside. Rebar is a great place to head in San Antonio for the drink specials, live music and a fun atmosphere.

Revoltion Room

8123 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.320.4567
Einsten, Che Guevara, Bob Marley and Ghandi line the walls of the appropriately named Revolution Room in San Antonio as if there was an impending revolution in the works. The chill blue lights behind the bar don't seem to threaten revolution and neither does the downstairs dance area, The Red Room. A live DJ spins music for the basement dance area decorated with red hues and lights, hence, The Red Room. San Antonio twenty-somethings and singles in their thirties can hang around at the bar, dance downstairs or get a game of pool in on one of the tables. The Revolution Room manages to be a cool San Antonio bar while still being laid back.

The Saint

1430 N. Main Ave., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.225.7330
Every night at the Saint is a party with "showgirls" hosting the show. Saturday nights get crazy at this gay bar and dance club with a male and female strip contest that college students can get into for free with ID until midnight. The San Antonio gay bar has drink specials and jello shots every night for super low prices which ends up making the night that much more fun. Most people prefer to roam the club and dance instead of sitting at a bar stool, a good thing for those that need to make their way to the bar for a drink. When there isn't a drag show on at this San Antonio gay bar, sexy men in Speedos do a little dance on the stage for everyone's viewing pleasure.

Silver Dollar Saloon

1422 N Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.227.2623

The bartenders are friendly and great fun to talk to about San Antonio, the gay scene and even the Silver Dollar Saloon itself.

Steers & Beers

849 E. Commerce, #101, San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.223.9687
The river-level dining room at Steers and Beers serves up American Texas cuisine on "cow hide" tablecloths while upstairs the San Antonio crowd gets to boogieing down. The full upstairs bar at Steers & Beers compliments karaoke and dancing that will make anyone forget they're in modern day San Antonio and send them back to the old west. Everything on the menu is paired with a wine selection—the Lone Star Nachos go with a Beringer White Zinfandel—that gives the restaurant unexpected classiness. The farmhouse and old west Texas décor make Steers and Beers a great San Antonio restaurant, bar and dance hall that anyone in the whole family can enjoy.
