About Guy Forsyth Blues Band

Guy Forsyth began his career in Austin, Texas, in the early 90's, starting up an all-acoustic, aggressively non-electrified band of no small renown called the Asylum Street Spankers. He then became known on his own as a bluesman – guitarist, harp player and composer – and has appeared in a number of independent feature films (including Waking Life). Guy has built a dedicated following and has released eight albums and tours throughout Texas, across the US and at least twice a year in Europe, where his debut album "High Temperature" (Lizard Disc) is considered blues canon. Besides High Temperature, his discography includes three records on Antone's (Needlegun, Steak, and Can You Live Without), a number of live records (Unrepentant Schizophrenic Americana, Live at Gruene Hall and the DVD 300 Miles From There To Here), two studio albums on his own Small and Nimble Records (Love Songs: For And Against, Calico Girl).

Most recently Guy released a brand new studio record called The Freedom To Fail on Blue Corn, has just finished recording two new studio projects, a brand new blues album tentatively titled The Pleaser, and a new full-length studio album from his side project the Hot Nut Riveters called Moustashe Girl, in addition to helping Lizard Disc ready the 20th Anniversary release of recently unearthed tracks from the High Temperature sessions called Red Dress, which will likely be released on both CD and vinyl in June in both Europe and America, though in very different packages.
