Heroes Don't Fight Alone Benefit

It's time to come together and show support for two of our fellow Firefighters. A benefit has been set to help raise money for unplanned costs suffered by these individuals and their families.

Firefighter Mario Lopez began his career at BC2FD December of 2012. Mario came with some background from District 7 Fire Rescue as well as a Bachelor's in Math from the University of TX! He is also a member of the Alamo Area FOOLS. Mario then got news April 2014, that he had a rare form of Leukemia and after aggressive treatment at MD Anderson in Houston; Mario was brought home by all of his brothers and sisters where he would parish at the age of 28. Mario had a passion bigger than life and always had such a positive attitude. His strength throughout his illness was an inspiration to all and for that he will always be remembered.

Lt. Patrick Juarez began with our department in 2006 where he started as a Firefighter. He built and expanded his career until he earned the title of Lieutenant. Lt. Juarez grew with our Dept. as we became Bexar County 2 Fire. In 2008, Patrick got on with the Houston Fire Department where he also currently works. Very recently, Pat was diagnosed with kidney cancer and has had several surgical procedures done to include the removal of one kidney. We hope and pray for his recovery as he continues to fight. Juarez shows much dedication to his job and most importantly, his Firefighters. His fairness along with a great attitude has earned him the love of many.

At this time, we would like to invite everyone to come out and enjoy BBQ, music, raffle, drinks, and much more at Floores Country Store and the Helotes Creek Winery in support of these two amazing people. Lets show Mario, Patrick, and their families what the brotherhood is capable of!

Tickets can be purchased at the event, $10 for a BBQ plate which will be at the Helotes Creek Winery directly across the street from Floores AND/OR $10 admission to Floores where music/entertainment, raffle, and items will be for sale! You will have the option on the ticket to choose BBQ, admission to Floores, or both.
Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase for $5.00. All proceeds will go to both families.

"Heroes Don't Fight Alone" adult size T-shirts will be available for purchase at the benefit for $20 and $25 for size 2X and up. Wrist bands ($5), Helmet stickers ($5), and much more will also be for sale.

So, come out and join us at Floores Country Store from 11:00am-3:00 pm and enjoy the brotherhood with music, food, and drinks. Bring the family! Hope to see you all there!
