Six-Time Grammy Award Winning (including 2015 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award) Tejano music accordionist from San Antonio, Texas, born March 11, 1939. Made his first records in a garage studio in the 1950s for Jose Morante's NorteƱo/Sombrero labels located at the corner of Ruiz Street and 24th Street in San Antonio, TX. The studio engineer for those recordings was Salome Gutierrez R. of whom later started his own record label known as D.L.B. RECORDS (Del Bravo Records). Jimenez is revered by his fans as "El Rey de Texas" (The King of Texas).


Conjunto Los Pinkys have been performing around the USA and in the Lone Star State since 1992. They have been featured at the Johnstown Folk Festival in Johnstown, PA, The Tejano-Conjunto Festival en San Antonio, Texas, Accordion Kings in Houston, Texas, The Berryessa Flea Market in San Jose, California, Dia de Los Muertos Celebration in Birmingham, Alabama and many clubs, dancehalls, cantinas, church bazaars, jamaicas, quincieneras, weddings and parties around Central Texas. They are 2015 members of the Austin Music Hall of Fame.

With two CDs released on ROUNDER Records, and a number of self-produced CDs, the group offers up a variety of dance music including polkas, rancheras, cumbias, boleros, huapangos and American roots and country. The group features longtime veteran of Austin's conjunto music scene and member of Los Idolos del Barrio Hall of Fame-Isidro Samilpa. Special guests include award-winning Chencho Flores and Vicente Alonzo.
