About Da$h, Maxo Kream

Now in a rap scene that's overdosing off of flashy multi-syllabic wordplay, slick punch lines, and other obvious persona gimmicks, you aren't going to find too many new artists who find their own individual voice through lyrics, beats, and style right off the bat; let's face it, it's hard for anyone to embrace their own individuality in a sea of conformity. But somehow Da$h has managed to convey himself in about 11 less-than-three-minute dark, poetic bangers that I have kept in repeated rotation since about Tuesday. His Caveman Files tape is pure dope with his candid, tangent infested spoken word-rap style that he weaves into Sean O'Connell's eerie production. Da$h's complex "dark" feel is undeniable, but at the same time his lyrics simply convey the blunted mind state of a hungry 18 year old in the process of a metamorphosis. I'm excited to see where this dude's art takes him, expect him to be around for a while… He's just getting started.

Maxo Kream is an upcoming rapper from Houston, Texas.
