As long as your eyes can focus well enough to hit the right floor, there is nothing to worry about. San Antonio hotel bars aren’t just for out of towners, though. Locals love the hotel bar scene for its rotating cast of patrons—there’s always something new going on at a hotel bar. Club Cohiba

1015 Navarro St., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.222.2008
Club Cohiba is a San Antonio club reminiscent of a better time in Cuba located under the historic Havana Riverwalk Inn. The basement bar and club allows a classy crowd to have an audible conversation over finely made drinks and cigars on the leather couches. Club Cohiba has a humidor with a great selection of cigars for the twenty-something to forty-something crowd to have their selection from. Since the hotel bar and lounge is Cuban themed, it's only appropriate they serve an array of tapas and make an exceptional mojito, both of which this San Antonio hotel bar does beautifully. The best time to hit Club Cohiba is during the weekday happy hour between 4pm and 7pm when food and drink prices become a tad more reasonable.

Jim Cullum's Landing

123 Losoya St., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.223.7266
Inside the Hyatt Regency on the San Antonio River Walk, Jim Cullen's Landing has a glass enclosed landing specially constructed so that the live jazz performances wouldn't need amplifiers. Outside, when the weather is nice, jazz duos perform on the outside patio right on the River Walk. The Landing has a full bar and menu featuring true gourmet Texas style cuisine to go along with the live jazz. The patio and the dining room at the Landing are other fine locations to enjoy San Antonio's River Walk, live jazz, fine cuisine and a cold drink.

Menger Bar

204 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.223.4361
In downtown San Antonio, the historic Menger Hotel has an equally historic bar where none other than Teddy Roosevelt spent time recruiting men for his Rough Riders. The Menger Bar is a replica of the House of Lords Pub in London and was built in San Antonio in 1887. Dark cherrywood paneling and beveled glass cabinets radiate a classiness that attracts locals to the bar for a cocktail after tourists disperse. A second floor loft offers more light and an intimate atmosphere to enjoy the stiff drinks from downstairs. Menger Bar offers a full menu of pub food like sandwiches and appetizers that are delicious, especially when paired with a beer form their extensive selection.

Tex's Sports Bar River Walk

200 S. Alamo, San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.222.1400
The Hilton Palacio del Rio Hotel houses the best Texas-style sports bar on the River Walk. Several TVs are spread throughout the bar so customers never miss a second of the game while enjoying a cold beer and one of the classic Texas appetizers. Memorabilia from the San Antonio Spurs decorates the bar that also offers a full menu and an outside patio right on the River Walk. On Friday and Saturday nights local San Antonio bands play at Tex's Sports Bar for the 30 and over crowd. The sports bar is a great place to catch a game for locals and tourists alike.
Vbar

V Bar

150 E. Houston St., San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.227.9700
The juxtaposition of silvery curtains and silk pillows against rock walls make V Bar stand out among San Antonio bars as a low-key getaway for after work drinks or a night on the town. Young San Antonio businesspeople brush elbows with the seasoned businesspeople that fill the bar on the second floor of Hotel Valencia. The main bar has a large singles scene that overflows into the couples that take in a view of the River Walk from the V Bar balcony. Romance permeates the air at V Bar with wandering singles and cooing couples.
