San Antonio Bars and Clubs - British Pubs
|
|
British pubs in San Antonio are always a good choice in bars because the beer selection is generally better than the old corner dive, and they seem to have food isn’t limited to reheated hamburgers and stale nachos. European beer might cost a little more than Pabst Blue Ribbon or Keystone Light, but happy hour tends to even the playing field. Plus, specials on great British cuisine make dinner and a few brews even more affordable. When in San Antonio, try hitting a British pub for happy hour and a bite to eat—with any luck you’ll be too loaded by the time you leave to taste the Bud Lights that will inevitably be flowing later. Sherlock’s Baker St. Pub & Grill is an excellent British pub to have a Bass and some Baja fish tacos. Ok, so British pubs in Texas might cater to the locals, but they also feature English favorites like Shepard’s pie or fish and chips.
Lion & Rose Pub
5148 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.822.7673
As the San Antonio original in the Lion and Rose Pub chain, the Alamo Heights location still has the magic touch when it comes to serving customers cold beer and classic British food. Plasma TVs line the bar and show American and European sports plus there's free WiFi for those that have a laptop. Because a great pub needs good food too, there is a full menu of British food at the Lion & Rose Pub and a few San Antonio favorites also. The shepherd's pie, English pub crock and Piccadilly pasties are all worth trying with a fine imported beer. Nowhere else in San Antonio—except maybe their other locations—can sports fans feel like they're watching a game in England.

Sherlock's Baker St. Pub & Grill
16620 US 281 N. Suite 1, San Antonio, Texas; Tel. 210.572.9307
To bar or to band, that is the question. Sherlock's Baker St. Pub and Grill in San Antonio has two sides, both equally fun, both equally attractive, but a choice needs to be made between the bar side or the band side. It's a tough choice with the bar side boasting pool tables, darts and Golden Tee and the band side promising live music every night. The San Antonio British pub may tip the scale towards the bar side with a grill serving up British favorites like Shepherd's Pie, classic pub food favorites like burgers and Baja tacos like grilled fish tacos. British pub, Baja tacos? It's Texas, okay. The pub offers a huge selection of draught and bottle beers to enjoy on either side. Quieter and darker on the pub side, couches and tables are a great place to watch the current sports game on one of the many TVs. What it comes down to is that bar side or band side, Sherlock's Baker St. Pub and Grill in San Antonio has plenty to offer to anyone looking for a good time.
