San Antonio Bars and Clubs - Billiard Bars
|
|
It’s always good to have a distraction when drinking, and few are more fun than shooting some pool. Most of San Antonio’s bars manage to squeeze pool tables in somewhere. They might not be the most level or pretty to look at, but they get the job done. Bananas Billiard Bar & Grill has nice tables and features 9-ball tournaments during the week and weekends. Billiards makes a great excuse to chat with new people without the awkwardness of "Why are you talking to me?" moments. If it’s in the game, anything goes. Plus, with a little lubrication, a nice set of balls and maybe even a friendly wager, the night will get off to a great start. San Antonio is an awesome place to go out, have a few cold ones and shoot some pool with old friends or new acquaintances.

Banana's Billiard Bar & Grill
2003 San Pedro Ave., San Antonio TX 78212; Tel. 210.226.2627
There's no monkey stuff about Banana's Billiard Bar and Grill. On the corner a few blocks from San Antonio College, the pool hall has several pool tables that have Wednesday and Saturday night 9-ball tournaments. Four coin-operated tables provide plenty of opportunities to get a game in at Banana's Billiard Bar & Grill and, believe it or not, ladies always play free at this San Antonio college hotspot. If a few games work up an appetite, Banana's luckily has a grill to serve up American fare including an excellent burger. Banana's, burgers, beer and billiards may seem like an unlikely combination, but they actually go better—along with a healthy dose of San Antonio hospitality—at this local bar and pool hall.

Legends Sports Bar & Billiards
1305 SW Loop 410 #208, San Antonio TX 78227; Tel. 210.674.0627
Sports fans that don't want to deal with the sometimes-obnoxious drunk fans that can flock to the River Walk go to Legends Sports Bar and Billiards in San Antonio. Customers at Legends can still catch a San Antonio Spurs game and all the excitement, but they get lower prices and better service. A menu with classic American bar fare and south-of-the-border influences keeps customers full while they sip cold beer and watch the game at the bar. Video games, darts, a card area and obviously pool tables are always available for idle sports fans. Karaoke and live music are also offered during the week from San Antonio locals, so there's always plenty to do and see at Legends.

Nice Rack San Antonio
9518 Console Dr., San Antonio TX 78229; Tel. 210.614.5200
Nice Rack is a lively, frequently packed billiard and sports bar in San Antonio. Regular drink specials make drunkenness a shockingly affordable state of being, and a hefty menu of classic bar fare preps the stomach nicely for the copious amounts of alcohol. When shooting pool isn’t free (which it is several times throughout the week), it’s pretty darn cheap at this Northwest San Antonio/Medical Center nightlife destination. TVs all around the venue keep sports fans up on the latest stats, and occasional DJs add a club-style element on the weekends.
